Expectations
1. We are organized. Our planners are filled out and signed by a parent
every night. All work and handouts are kept
in their proper folder/duo tang or binder; there are no loose papers in our desks. Our chairs are always tucked in when we exit
them.
2. We are active, focused problem solvers. We answer the easy questions first, build our
confidence, than attack the questions we find most difficult. We use our elbow partners or team mates
quietly if necessary and only ask the teacher when we have tried all other
options and she is available. We are to remain in our seats at all times unless
given permission to do otherwise.
3. We are respectful. We respect the positive work environment that
helps us all to learn. We listen when
others are speaking. We raise our hands when we want to share our ideas or
responses. We do not interrupt or disrespect the opinions or ideas of others.
We use our quiet voices and focus on our work during class. Our line ups are
done quickly and quietly. All movement in the hall is done quietly so that
other classes can learn without interruption.
4. We are prepared. We come to class with
all necessary materials, books, and tools. We have the proper footwear for Phys
Ed. We are prepared for all tests and assignments are completed on time and to
the best of our ability; not the night before they are due.
Team
Reward
Students who demonstrate the above expectations on
a daily basis will earn Vortex Bucks for their team. The team who has earned the most Bucks at the
end of the month will be rewarded with McFlurries. Individuals who do not consistently
meet these expectations could cost their team to lose Vortex Bucks and after 3
strikes will be removed from their team. If their team wins the monthly reward
they will not receive the reward.
